For Young Actors

A headshot — a clear, professional photo centered on your head and shoulders — serves as your first introduction to a director. It’s a super helpful tool for casting — that’s why we ask you to bring one along to auditions!
The perfect headshot helps us remember details about your audition, shows off your personality, and lets us introduce you once you’re part of a cast. You can get a professional headshot, but you can also take one on your cell phone — and using a school picture is always an option as well.
Note: if you don’t have a headshot yet, that’s okay! If we need one, we might ask to take a photo of you for reference at the audition.
Headshot tips:
The subject should be centered in the frame and facing forward toward the camera.
It’s best to have a simple, neutral background that won’t distract from the subject.
Make sure you give us a current photo that reflects how you look now — we might get confused if you share one from two years ago!
Try to avoid photos that are blurry or full of deep shadows.
Think about what you’re wearing! A favorite outfit can help you project confidence, but a wild, busy one can distract from your face.
You can definitely smile in your headshot — in fact, it’s encouraged!
Print your headshot and staple it to your resume.
